About the Team
Grain to Glass Sustainability is an integral part of Diageo’s end to end strategy & is being enabled by leading Digital, Data and Insights solutions.
Grain to Glass Sustainability focuses on driving reductions in the environmental impact of Diageo’s vaue chain supporting the delivery of Diageo’s 2030 Sustainability targets. This is fueled through data-driven insights and reporting across our connected value chain.
Investing smartly in our sustainable digital strategy will enable move towards achieving our 2030 sustainability ambitions. Global Sustainable Sourcing Research and Insights services are a critical enabler.
About the Role
This role has specific responsibility for developing and implementing key research, insights and analytics elements to support the Global Sustainability Sourcing team. You will be working closely to the Global Head of Sustainable Sourcing in providing forensic analysis, scenario modelling, data gathering, baselining, cost modelling, market insight and global benchmarking.
The role plays a key part in influencing sustainability in supply chains decisions with partners across Diageo operations globally. The role has responsibility for developing a repository for analytics, data and information to support the Global Sustainable Sourcing strategy.
As a key person in our dedicated team, your focus in this role is:
Supporting strategy and roadmap development across Climate Action pillars in our global supply chains, including carbon, regenerative agriculture, water, zero waste to landfill and recycled content in packaging.Modelling & reporting sustainability metrics across the Diageo groupWork with global procurement teams (packaging, raw materials, manufacturing services, logistics, indirects and marketing) to understand sustainability data complexities and needs.Support development of data and systems strategy for sustainable sourcing.Increase Diageo’s expertise in sustainability and in the overall research, insights and analytical capability on a global basis.Developing improvements and solutions with Digital/Technology, and other partners to improve insights.Research, recommend and apply for available funding programs for regenerative agriculture, carbon offsetting, water efficiencies and circular packaging.
Key Accountabilities:
Model & report Diageo’s Scope 3 carbon emissions, sustainable packaging KPI’s and other Grain to Glass sustainability metrics.Build a detailed understanding of the Diageo global sustainable sourcing strategies. Analyze market trends, build models, gain insight on what other peer companies are doing.Provide data insights to procurement teams as they pursue carbon footprint reduction, enabling them to generate footprint analysis effectively support strategy deployment over time.Lead Research and Insights activity, providing valuable information to the Global Sustainable Sourcing team such as:In depth analysis of Climate Action elements (carbon, regenerative agriculture, water, recycled content in packaging)Creating & developing strategic options and sustainability heatmaps for categories and markets globally based on data insightsBuilding case to support sustainability strategies and scenario changesBe comfortable to explore climate accounting practices, interpret LCAs and footprint analysis.Develop and maintain a robust strategic framework and performance reporting mechanism for climate action and sustainable sourcing, enabling internal and external results reporting and senior leader decision-making.
About You
For this role we are looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:
University Degree or equivalent experience in quantitative or commercially biased subject areaExperience and knowledge of working with sustainability reporting and an understanding of leading FMCG practicesData modelling and cleansing of multiple discrete data sourcesExperience in working with other key stakeholder functions e.g. procurement, finance, manufacturing, commercial, marketing etcDemonstrable leadership experience, e.g. leading projects; programmes
