The Role
The Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) technology team is looking for a polyglot programmer who can apply the power of data to seek quantifying investment decisions through sophisticated calculations. We have an excellent opportunity to work on various technology modernization efforts including Cloud migration, API transformation, data strategy while supporting an application performing billions of computations daily and used by thousands of investment professionals across the firm.
The Expertise and Skills You Have
Technical experience in the financial services industry with solid background handling time series data is a plusProven knowledge about how financial markets work and applying math and statistics skills to programmingImplement sophisticated solutions on a platform crafted for high scale processing & distribution of large amounts of analyticsDetail oriented with strong problem analysis and issue resolution skillsExperience with Mutual Fund accounting and security processing is helpfulProven full stack development experienceDemonstrable programming skills and experience in multiple languages such as Java, Python, C, or C++ on Linux command line environment.Full stack experience using Java Spring Boot, Angular/React or Python Flask, Django frameworks,Demonstrable experience developing applications using AWS Cloud services and DevSecOpsSupport application's adoption of enterprise recommended cloud-based solutionsBuild APIs to consume and deliver large quantities of confidential financial dataHave good interpersonal skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in meaningful discussions
The Team
The FFIO technology team crafts and maintains technology solutions and products that enable FFIO to provide accounting and investment management support services to Fidelity businesses and fund shareholders. As part of FFIO, Performance Attribution team is responsible for the production of daily transaction-based attribution analytics at the holdings level for use by the application's multifaceted consumers who include Senior Investment Staff, Portfolio Managers, Chief Investment Officers, Research groups, Distribution Channels, Board of Trustees & Shareholders. We work closely with investment management teams to understand the investment process and drivers that support decision and formulate attribution models and analytics to support their needs.
We are organized as small, multi-functional squads delivering specific business & technology goals defined by the Tribes. The qualified candidate will collaborate with other members of the squad including attribution analysts in extending and modernizing the platform.
