Job Description:
Asset Management Technologies is looking for a Principal Software Engineer passionate about developing Data Engineering solutions to support High Income and Alternatives data needs. The Principal Software Engineer is responsible for data analysis, database development in oracle, ETL development, Data API Development, applying the best engineering practices, testing, deployment, and providing L3 support. An ideal candidate for this role would be passionate about analyzing data needs, aspiring to improve data quality, and chipping in to deliver innovative data solutions to our High Income and Alternatives Business Partners. This position is available in Boston, Merrimack, Raleigh, Smithfield, and Westlake.
The expertise and skills you bring
8+ years of industry experience as an Oracle Data Engineer, and ETL DeveloperB.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical/engineering disciplineHands-on in-depth working experience in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL tuning.Experience working with native AWS services, creating Data APIs, Snowflake and Python.Working experience with Informatica for ETL and AutosysExperience in the development of data intensive processes with high focus on data qualityExposure to GIT Stash, Jenkins and CICD ProcessesProven experience with data analysis and database design.Financials and Investment domains exposure will be a plus.Experience working in agile methodology, providing L3 support, and working as part of geographically distributed teams is desirableProven ability in coaching junior engineers and fostering strong engineering practicesExcellent oral and written communication skills as you will present to everyone from entry-level employees to executivesCustomer obsessed and adept at developing relationships and engaging users.Curiosity and passion about data, visualization and solving problems.Eager to learn and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
The Team
The Principal Software Engineer will be member of a global database development team that focuses on building scalable and optimized data solutions to satisfy High Income and Alternatives business needs. This team has a deep understanding of business data needs, their products, and applications. The team is responsible for providing end to end data engineering solutions, design and help build robust data access layers required by multiple applications, short cycle enhancements and lifecycle initiatives including the migration of the data platforms to a cloud-based solution.
Asset Management Technology (AM Tech) provides worldwide technology and support to all the Investment Management, Research, Trading, and Investment Operations functions. AM Tech is an integral partner for Asset Management to deliver innovative, scalable, industry-leading investment tools that enable Asset Management to achieve competitive advantage globally.
