Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal OR Senior Principal Project Management professional to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
As the selected candidate you will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between program management and planning, project team, and line management. Candidate should enjoy the challenges of working in a dynamic environment; have strong analytical, communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively on project and functional teams; and the ability to communicate and summarize detailed data to management. The selected candidate should have highly effective interpersonal skills, commitment to fostering an engaging environment for others, and excellent communication skills. They should have the ability to work independently with minimal direction using continuous problem solving techniques and be able to lead through, overcome and adapt to obstacles and challenges; dealing effectively with change and challenges and helping others to do the same. This position will report to the sub-IPT manager directly.
Key responsibilities:Review status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with program managers, line managers, and clients.Perform Control Account Management (CAM) dutiesReview monthly Earned Value (EV) data and provide detailed cost account status for the Flight Test Operations organization.Additional responsibilities include:Define, plan, perform, monitor, control, and complete a variety of project tasks simultaneously.Review labor resource and cost actuals on a weekly basis, acting on any discrepancies.Perform Earned Value analysis for internal reporting and planning purposes to meet targeted cost, schedule, and staffing requirements.Perform schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks.Analyze and aggregates supply / demand requirements.On a monthly basis: calculate & enter Estimate to Complete (ETCs) into the financial system, analyze EV metrics and generate Variance Reports (VARs) as required, and attend program VAR meetings.Support the generation of proposal inputs, including Basis of Estimate, estimate rationale, overhead, labor and personnel capacity, and risk / opportunity tracking.Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using EPS.Review and support travel and operating expense reports for submission to management in CONCUR. Gather historical cost data on such activities as labor, travel, operating expenses, etc. and projects expenses in support of our deployed programs.Assess and resolve situations in a timely manner and utilize interpersonal skills to consult with appropriate parties as needed for timely execution of project management duties such as, contracts, budgeting, RFPs, etc.Analyze lead times and identifies critical path procurements for the program and coordinates with the GSC Procurement to engage suppliers.Assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material, and rough-cut capacity for all products.Participate in make/buy process, long-term capacity, and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management."This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below."

Salary Range 2: $109,900 - $164,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
