If you’re like us, you agree that open source software is a wonderful and unique gift that the community of software developers across the world have given to each other. At FOSSA, we want to proliferate its usage with our software supply chain management platform that helps our customers know what licenses, vulnerabilities, and dependencies go into their software as they utilize open source software packages. And we won’t rest until all companies, big and small, love and feel as comfortable with using open source as we are.
FOSSA is a rapidly growing series-B company with a truly distributed team. While our roots are in San Francisco, our growing team has members in several countries across many time zones. We’re always working to find the perfect balance of effective approaches to distributed work, while maintaining the direct personal connections that help us work better together and love our jobs.
Your Mission:
FOSSA’s mission is to help companies accelerate open source adoption. The FOSSA platform reduces software supply chain risk at scale for some of the largest and most advanced companies on the planet, including Uber, Snap, Slack and more.
We’re rapidly growing and need a Principal/Senior Product Manager on our Analysis team. The Analysis team is the leading edge of the FOSSA platform – identifying open source dependencies and licenses across all enterprise language ecosystems. Naturally, this role requires a large amount of developer empathy and technical depth. If you love getting in the details of developer tools and workflows, then this might be a good fit for you.
In this role, you will work cross-functionally with UX, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to guide features for our Analysis platform from conception to launch and iteration. That means you’ll have significant ownership of the backlog and opportunity to have an outsized impact.
In this role you will: Be your team's eyes and ears in the market, talking to customers and deeply understanding their needs and the broader market context. Partner with your engineering counterparts to develop a strategy and build a roadmap to address our customer market. Drive project impact end-to-end, from designing new features to address customer needs to working with sales, marketing, and customer success to sell those features, get feedback from the market, and measure their impact on the success of our business. Become an expert in developer tools, enterprise engineering organizations, and the developer tools market. About you: You have a technical background working with developer tools. A CS degree is not required, but you will be talking to developers all day about compilers, build tools, and dependency resolution. You should have experience writing code and using these tools, and should be able to understand how these tools work. You have a proven track record of making a commercial impact (Revenue/Adoption Growth). You are comfortable interpreting product analytics, driving a roadmap from them, and getting them built when they don't yet exist. You are capable of owning and making critical decisions – driving those decisions end to end beyond engineering through sales and post-sales to our customers. You have experience building enterprise B2B SaaS and on-premises products and driving feature adoption at enterprise customers. You have 3+ years of product management experience.
Why you'll love working at FOSSA:
