In this role on the quantitative research engineering team you will produce high-quality, testable code for research platform and efficiently deploy them onto AWS. The Expertise and Skills You Bring
8+ years' experience as a full stack software engineer, delivering software using agile development practicesExposure to coding in more than one programming language. Our full stack engineers work across a range of client, middle tier, messaging, caching and database technologies including Python, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, SQL and PL/SQLPython programming and familiarity with core data science librariesUnderstanding different package managers and test frameworksKnowledge in python web frameworks like Flask, Django is a plusObject Oriented development experience, ideally with Python and JavaExposure to Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practicesExposure to test automation frameworks that support all types of testing (unit, component, integration, system etc.) executed through CI/CD pipelines.Experience with Python and one or more of the following: Angular, Node.js, RESTful APIs, HTML, JavaScript or CSSExperience working on AWS/Azure cloud environment and proven understanding of CI/CD & DevOpsFamiliarity with quantitative techniques and methods, statistics, econometrics - including probability, linear regression, time series data analysis and optimizations is a plusBachelor's degree (or above) in either Engineering or Computer Science related fieldAwareness of event-based systems, functional programming, emerging technologies and messaging frameworks such as Kafka and EMS.
Demonstrate a test-driven approach to developing software and can build or contribute to automated testing frameworks that can detect any anomalies in functionality, performance and integration.Experiences in some of the following technologies continuous integration/delivery tools such as GIT, Cloudbees Jenkins, uDeploy and/or Pivotal Concourse.Lead Software engineers encouraging autonomy, mastery and purpose in their work.Experience building enterprise cloud enabled distributed systems.Know, understand and promote Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery engineering practices.Document design options and decisions, and present these in an organized manner to technical as well as non-technical audiencesStrong contributor with a collaborative work style in building, crafting and reviewing codeDesign & develop capabilities used by Investment Research ProfessionalsKey member of the engineering team actively innovating and creatively experimenting so that we may better support business needsBring curiosity and a questioning mind-set to work, asking always about the "why" and the "value" of an activity or task
The Team
Asset Management Technology (AMT) provides worldwide technology and support to all the Investment Management, Research, Trading, and Investment Operations functions. We are seeking a Principal, Software Engineer to join our Quantitative Research & Investing Technology organization. This role will be part of our Quantitative Engineering team, which is responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining a new quant research oriented meta-data programming language.
