Description
We are looking for a Principal Economist to join the World Wide Last Mile Team. This leader will be an industrial organization economist who makes convincing, data-driven decisions. They will develop innovative pricing strategies for our Delivery Service Partners. They will be a pragmatic visionary who can identify opportunities and lead the team to translate them into workable, scalable product and process solutions.
The ideal candidate will generate ideas and solve problems independently, and possess the ability to use economics to inform business decisions.

Basic Qualifications
PhD in Economics or related field
Experience in the field of Industrial Organization
10+ years related research experience
Preferred Qualifications
Strong research track record, drives results
Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
Effective verbal and written communications skills
Exhibits business judgment
Has relentlessly high standards

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $294,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
