Our aspiration for the Novartis Global Consulting team is to 'be the best internal consulting team in the world' in support of our Novartis purpose to 'Reimage medicine to improve and extend people's lives'. As part of the Novartis Operations CONEXTS Consulting leadership team, the Principal Consultant will be responsible for creating impact and value to Novartis through scoping, shaping, leading and delivering programs / projects and associated governance and control tasks. The role is predominantly project based and involves working on tasks that could cover any part of the Novartis business. The content is likely to include the design, implementation and continuous improvement of services, processes and other solution elements, including data and digital solutions.
Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Apply a strategic mindset to 'think local but act global' so that local initiatives can be scaled globally across the consulting practice.
• Practice 'servant-leadership' to support our 'unbossed' culture by listening intently, analyzing carefully and acting decisively with empathy and a genuine interest in the development of your team, our practice and Novartis associates.
• Work with Account Managers and internal project partners to set the strategy to meet the consulting opportunity pipeline and design the plan to convert this into internal projects.
• Drive sustainable change in a heavily networked global environment through senior stakeholder engagement and management.
• Lead and oversee multi-disciplinary programs and global project teams so that they achieve successful outcomes within the planned budget and timeline.
• Deliver successful consulting assignments, ensuring project deliverables are properly designed and implemented according to the relevant project methodology and approach agreed with internal project partners, managing project risks, where required.
• Provide oversight and management / development of colleagues, leading internal strategic initiatives, mentoring and coaching, capability developments, and the achievement of your teams BBO ('Big Bold Objective')
• Lead all aspects of the project portfolio through regular status reporting and stakeholder management updates.
• Identify and drive opportunities to expand the Consulting offerings and develop solutions with other practices, functional teams, IT, and third parties.
• Manage and execute the administration of all project related administration requirements (using the appropriate applications) for projects to which you are assigned or for which you are the Engagement Accountable executive.
• Support the Global Consulting Practice Operations by ensuring that all ad-hoc/interim requests for information are provided in a timely and accurate manner as well as the headcount planning and recruitment/selection processes as required in accordance with all applicable, in-force P&O policies and practices

Role Requirements
What you'll bring to the role:
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in science, engineering, business administration or economics
• Desirable: Masters in a change related subject matter area as well as any additional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Change management, Enterprise Communications, Project management, Facilitation /Coaching, design thinking, ITIL.
• Minimum of 15 years' experience driving value in leading organizations, scoping, shaping, leading and delivering change and /or process improvement projects and programs in a Top 5 consulting firm or in an equivalent large corporate environment.
• Significant experience leading and managing end-to-end project lifecycles including planning and driving all elements of project execution.
• Proven track record of managing consulting teams (including virtual teams), and influencing senior stakeholders of widely varying backgrounds across a dispersed and matrixed organization.
