The Multinational Corporations team, within the Commercial Bank, manages J.P. Morgan's relationships with North American subsidiaries of foreign headquartered companies, solving client issues and assisting with their growth. We help our clients meet their objectives and challenges in automation, risk management, working capital, and cash management.
As a Portfolio Banker in the Multinational Corporations team within the Commercial Bank, you will be the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of accounts. You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver comprehensive solutions to our clients. Your focus will be on maintaining and deepening existing client relationships, leveraging your deep understanding of Treasury Services, International Banking, Commercial Card, Foreign Exchange, and Chase Merchant Solutions. You will also liaise with other areas of the organization, including credit underwriters, AML/KYC officers, client service associates (CSAs), and treasury management officers. Your role will be crucial in helping our clients meet their objectives and challenges in automation, risk management, working capital, and cash management.
The Portfolio Banker will not have primary new client development responsibilities, but will focus on maintaining and deepening existing client relationships.
Job Responsibilities
Manage on-going client relationship management and responsiveness, including, but not limited to, face-to-face meetings at the client company, as well identifying opportunities to deepen the existing relationship. Coordinate with treasury management officers to add or expand treasury relationships with the clients
Deliver Treasury and Credit solutions for clients, including coordinating with treasury management officers to add or expand treasury relationships with the clients. In addition, assisting with processing credit requests, requests for amendments and waivers, in coordination with the credit underwriters. Additionally, PB is responsible for ensuring that all opportunities are entered and managed throughout the TS and Credit pipeline.
Work in conjunction with the Client Support Associates, the PB will be responsible to ensure the client's operational needs are serviced in a timely and high-quality manner. The Portfolio Banker will also have responsibility for annual coverage review of product sets and delivering the products and services of the firm to clients.
Oversee, escalate and resolve issues, including any AML-identified compliance issues, as well as any reputational or negative media issues, in coordination with MMBSI management and the appropriate escalation forum. Supporting KYC officer in completion of AML/KYC due diligence including approving DDF forms that reflect true relationship knowledge.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
5 years of middle market banking, treasury and credit underwriting experience with a focus on business relationships and client management
Ability to work in large deal teams, is responsive, and an efficient and effective communicator
Strong investigatory, due diligence and risk analysis skills
Strong creative solution and problem solving abilities
Able to work independently multi-task and handle a sizeable account load
Understanding of Commercial Banking products and services and demonstrated experience meeting or exceeding sales goals
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
Bachelor's degree preferred, and completion of a formal bank sponsored credit training program or formal training or experience in an underwriting role
Strong client-facing skills, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Familiarity with loan and treasury products highly desirable
Find ways to drive efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation while embracing the innovative opportunities offered by new technologies
Leverage internal networks and resources to deliver for clients and escalate issues
