The first-year residency program enhances general competencies in managing medication-use systems and supports optimal medication therapy outcomes for patients with a broad range of disease states. The nontraditional PGY1 resident accomplishes the same thing, but over two years. The second year residency allows specialization for a pharmacist in the area of oncology, critical care or transplant with further refinement of skills directed at patient care, literature review, presentations and research. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
