Job description
The Scheduler is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients while scheduling appointments according to the needs of the PET/CT Department. The employee should be willing to assist the patient, co-workers, nursing staff and physicians as needed.
Daily Duties:
Ability to schedule a high volume of appointments in a timely and courteous manner.
Provides exemplary customer service; treats patients and coworkers with courtesy and discretion.
Schedules new patients and established patient appointments in computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines. Cancels/reschedules appointments according to PET/CT schedule changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel and documents E.H.R.
Verifies all pertinent patient demographic information in E.H.R system, including insurance information.
Review patient’s medical charts to ensure appointments are scheduled properly
Call next day appointments to confirm preparation for scan and scan time.
Ability to adapt to daily scheduling changes.
Performs special projects as assigned by Administrator or other members of management.
Performs other tasks and duties as may be added from time to time.
