  This position is for a Network Automation entry level role in the Verizon Global Network & Technology organization. In this role you will be responsible for automation and streamlining of operational components and processes. You'll be maintaining tools for network deployment, monitoring and operations, troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, testing and production environments.

  As a Network Automation engineer you will:

  Gather client requirements for development projects and provide support to developers in the implementation of Network Automation practices.

  Provide updates to teams involved across the development life-cycle and track their progress.

  Perform the scripting and coding of the automation tools implemented by the developers.

  Support the implementation and maintenance of production environments.

  Support the communication of Network Automation processes and standards across the developer teams.

  You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

  In this hybrid full time position, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid role will be based out of Branchburg, New Jersey

  You'll need to have:

  Currently enrolled at Penn State and attending the career fair on 01/30.

  Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree majoring in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or related majors with a completion date of June 2024.

  Coursework or demonstrated experience in Python, Java and C++.

  Coursework or experience in Cloud Computing (ex: Cloud Native, Virtualization).

  Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

  Willingness to travel and work in Branchburg, New Jersey.

  Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  Demonstrated strong written and communication skills.

  Experience working with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

  Experience in Scripting with No-JS, Perl, or equivalent languages.

  Ability to work with/in scripting to automate monitoring of network performance.

  Network Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or similar).
