We are currently recruiting for a Limited Service Employment,Peer Support Worker,in either ourIdaho Falls or Rexburglocation.
Behavioral Health Peer Support Workers provide peer services and supports to the community in the region in which they work. The peer support worker will be under the umbrella of the regional behavioral health clinic and will report to the Behavioral Health Clinical Services Bureau Hub Program Manager (or supervisor designee). Peer Specialist work may include providing services to our ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) team, helping clients transition between levels of care (inpatient back to outpatient treatment), participation on mobile response teams, conducting community outreach, coordinating community services and resources to adults with SMI and/or to children with SED, helping participants in the community navigate through and connect people not in services to resources. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-5 with some flexibility with schedule is available. Teleworking arrangement may include hybrid office and telework options to be determined on an as needed basis to meet agency needs.
The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. If applicants are not able to pass a background investigation, a waiver process may be available.
This is a limited service position. Length of limited service appointments are determined by the availability of funds such as grants, alternative funding sources and/or timeframes such as pilot projects, alternative funding sources or program termination

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Targeted 1:1 assistance and support to participants.
Regular check ins with participants.
Connecting participants to community resources.
Provide peer support services in the community and in homes.
Connect with various community organizations and resources to provide additional support for participants that may be struggling due to post COVID impacts.
Plan, develop, and coordinate community resources and services for the SMI/SED populations.
Instruct clients in problem-solving, daily living, self-management, and connecting with community supports.
Monitor client goals, achievements and agreements; make progress notes.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Guide clients in completing documents necessary to implement services; explain applicable laws, policies and procedures to clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A valid driver's license.You may be required to drive to clients' homes and provide homemaking services and training for behaviorally, socially, physically, and/or mentally challenged clients.

Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.
Good knowledge of: community resources; crisis response and interventions; coaching in self-care and personal wellness; negative psychological effects of COVID-19. Typically gained by 6 months of Peer Support experience or certification of Idaho Peer Recovery Coach training.
Experience using an electronic health record. Typically gained by 6 months of Peer Support experience or certification of Idaho Peer Recovery Coach training.
Experience with Microsoft programs such as Word and Outlook. Typically gained by 6 months of Peer Support experience or certification of Idaho Peer Recovery Coach training.
