  Position Summary: Unity Village engages the spirit of community by welcoming to campus a broad range of guests. The mission of the Outreach Department is to help and serve all clients by creating memorable experiences through the professional management and exceptional execution of events, including product sales through Unity Gifts & Books.

  The Outreach Department at Unity Village is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, deadline driven person who can prioritize tasks to ensure successful execution of Unity events, including assisting guests in Unity Gifts & Books.

  Unity Outreach Events are typically scheduled Thursday through Saturday evening and during those events, the Unity Gifts & Books Store is open from noon to 5 p.m.

  This position will arrive before the event begins to assist with event setup and then break away from the event to serve as retail associate during the store hours.

  Essential Job Functions:

  Responsible for merchandising, styling, floor set planning and execution, replenishment, book launches/promotions, promotions and sales, campus event promotions and specials, updates, shipment, basic sales reports, loss prevention, and customer service.

  Assist in receiving and processing all new merchandise shipments.

  Work with Outreach Event Program Manager to coordinate set up details for in-person events, including preparing run of show, printing name tags, locating retreat journals, setting up welcome area, and greeting guests.

  Effectively manage and track multiple events simultaneously with a focus on contract completion, check requisition, arrival/departure times, meal preferences, etc. for speakers, musicians, and educators.

  Coordinate with Unity cleaning staff as needed to ensure bookstore and event space is clean, tidy and set up as requested.

  Establish priorities, be resourceful, and make well-informed decisions.

  Report monthly activity and provide weekly updates on projects.

  Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements.

  Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.

  Must represent and express the mission, vision, and values of Unity World Headquarters.

  Non-Essential Job Functions:

  Serve as back-up to the outreach event’s team for virtual and in person events.Qualifications

  Unity Gifts & Books Store Hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday noon to 5 p.m.

  Event schedule and hours will be determined monthly as needed.

  Education: High School Diploma/GED equivalent.

  Experience:

  Must be at least 18 years old.

  Minimum of one year of retail sales experience preferred and previous cash handling experience required.

  Minimum of one year of event management or equivalent experience.

  Must have superior communication, organizational and time management skills.

  Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to act with integrity and professional maturity.

  Must be able to work under close supervision and comprehend detailed instruction.

  Must be able to spend up to 100% of the working time standing and walking.

  Must be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which include evening hours, opening, closing, and weekend shifts.

  Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs., perform frequent standing, walking, repetitive finger, hand, and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and climbing step stools/ladders.

  Computer Skills: Basic end user of Windows based PC environment.

  Working knowledge of Unity Movement is helpful.
