Your day will be very busy... you will:
Performs patient fitting of prefabricated orthoses and prefabricated custom fit orthoses for the upper and lower extremities except those used in the initial and/or acute treatment of long bone fractures and dislocation, this only applies if ABC Certified if BOC they are allowed to fit therapeutic (diabetic) shoes/inserts and functional electrical stimulation (myorthosis).
Performs patient fitting of pressure gradient garments.
Performs patient fitting and instruction with off-the-shelf orthotic devices as prescribed and ancillary durable medical equipment (DME) products.
Completes patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, follow-up, and patient education.
Completes all documentation accurately and timely within 48 hours of the time of service.
Educates medical providers on required documentation to support medical necessity.
Maintains and updates skills by attending continuing education courses and seminars. Maintains all applicable professional certifications and licenses. Provides copies of certifications and licenses to the legal department.
Functions as a team member within the department and cross-functionally as required, contributing to and providing accurate clinical documentation, assisting in accurate billing and coding as necessary.
Orders and maintains inventory and inventory records.
What your background will be:
Associates degree or trade certificate in an applicable field of study and 5+ years relevant experience, or equivalent combination. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Relevant experience typically includes patient fitting of durable medical equipment and knowledge of medical billing practices.
Understanding of basic Anatomy, Physiology, Medical terminology, Insurance Claims, and Insurance Benefits and orthopedic injuries and conditions as they relate to the application of OTS bracing.
Computer proficient to include web browser/internet search, MS Outlook and Word capabilities. Technical competence includes the ability to learn new software and systems.

Salary/Pay Range
Salary/Pay Range: $41,300 - 53,300 annually
