About the Role
Role Title: Operations Lead - Data Science
Location: India/UK
About the Role:
• Within Global Drug Development, our core statistical computing environment is used for submission related as well as exploratory data science activities.
• We are looking for an Analytics Operations Lead to join our Analytics Computing & Engineering (ACE) team in Global Drug Development (GDD).
• Hosting a wide range of scientific software, the goal is to provide a robust and state-of-the-art platform for our 1500+ users and someone to support business in delivering operational excellence in our ongoing efforts to maintain and improve our system.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the collection of business requirements and coordination with IT
• Leading the scoping, planning, and testing of operational releases
• Leading incident and problem management activities
• Running small PoC projects to facilitate the exploration of new tools and methods
• Jointly work with IT and other business colleagues to make sure new capabilities are implemented in an efficient and effective manner
• Lead the creation and maintenance of user documentation, work instructions, and training material
• Ensuring continuity in Operations through smooth Release Management

Role Requirements
Essential Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field
• 10+ Yrs of experience in leading Data Science projects is preferred. Good knowledge of R, RShiny and other Scientific Open Source software is required.
• Deep understanding of general GxP and computer systems validation principles
• Willingness to learn about the relationship and interaction between technical and business processes and the drive to help shape both
• Familiarity with R, python, and RStudio/Posit products (e.g., RStudio/Posit Workbench, RStudio/Posit Connect).
• Ability to understand and communicate with many different stakeholders, e.g., those in business, IT and quality.
• A systematic approach and great attention to detail
• A solution-oriented mindset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English language).
