Immediate Supervisor: Pastor or Personnel Committee Chairperson in the absence of a Pastor.General description: This position will be responsible for the administrative functions of the church.Primary Duties1. Act as Receptionist - greet visitors, answer and direct telephone calls, take messages.2. Handle incoming and outgoing mail.3. Ensure the need or request for office supplies, communion and worship supplies, and offering envelopes, (etc.) is coordinated with the Finance Clerk and/or the Pastor for reordering.4. Handle office equipment repair issues.5. Prepare the Bulletins for Worship Services.6. Prepare the PowerPoint presentations for Worship Services.7. Assemble and Publish the Monthly Newsletter in digital and printed form.8. Assist the Pastor, or Clerk of Session and Session Moderator in absence of a Pastor, in completing the monthly Session Packets and distribution of meeting agendas for the Deacons.9. Assist the Clerk of Session in maintaining statistical information (new members, new Elders and Deacons, baptisms, weddings, deaths/funerals, etc.) in the church register.10. Collaborate/coordinate with the Finance Clerk.11. Ensure that all committee and Session meeting minutes are copied and filed appropriately.12. Act as the liaison with the custodian and/or other individuals for facility use.13. Coordinate the weekly radio broadcast and broadcast sponsorships.14. Update the Manual of Operations when policies, job descriptions, etc. are amended.15. Offer clerical and communication Support to Session, Session committees, and the Women of the Church.16. Prepare a written report for the Session with the purpose of communication and attend Session meetings as needed.17. Carry out other duties as requested by the Pastor or Session.Qualifications Person Specifications1. Effective communication skills, both oral and written.2. Strong organizational and time management skills.3. Strong computer skills. Proficient using the internet, email, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)4. Active participation or Membership in a local church congregation5. Knowledge of office procedures and office equipment6. Experience in an office and/or church office setting or equivalent7. Dependability to arrive on time, complete work thoroughly and accurately8. Professional friendly attitude.9. Ability to work independently and in team situations10. Experience and knowledge of maintaining confidentiality, as well as mandatory reporting.11. Maintain a spirit and attitude of flexibilityBenefits and Work Schedule1. 21 hours per week, the day and time to be determined. At present this rhythm is Tuesdays,Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9AM - 4PM.2. Three weeks (63 hours) Paid Time Off (PTO) per calendar year.3.
