Summary:
The NP/PA functions collaboratively with physicians in the Hematology/Oncology Program. The NP/PA autonomously performs patient assessments, diagnosis and implements an appropriate plan of care as defined by approved protocols. The NP/PA prescribes a variety of treatment modalities to meet patient care needs in the defined patient population up to and including hospital admissions/discharges, clinic visits and prescriptive authority. The NP/PA delivers competent and skilled care to patients and families according to their identified needs. Care is based on the nursing process and the medical plan of treatment. The NP/PA will deliver care with a team orientation, an emphasis on good customer relations, sound clinical judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidenced based practice.
Education:
Masters degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse,
Minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing and/or pediatric hematology and oncology NP experience strongly preferred

Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Minimum 1 year of experience in pediatric and/or pediatric hematology/oncology strongly preferred.
