Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner functions collaboratively with physicians in the Heart Center including Cardio Thoracic Surgery, Cardiac Critical Care Department and other Cardiac areas. The Nurse Practitioner autonomously performs patient assessments, diagnosis and implements an appropriate plan of care. The Nurse Practitioner prescribes a variety of treatment modalities to meet patient care needs in the defined patient population up to and including CICU admissions/discharges and prescriptive authority. The Nurse Practitioner delivers competent and skilled care to patients and families according to their identified needs. Care is based on the nursing process and the medical plan of treatment. The Nurse Practitioner will deliver care with a team orientation, an emphasis on good customer relations, sound clinical judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidenced based practice.
Education & Experience
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse from accredited Acute Care NP Program.Minimum 2 year of pediatric nursing experience or 2 years experience as PNP in primary or acute care setting strongly preferred.

Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.Minimum 2 years experience as a PA in primary or acute care pediatric setting strongly preferred.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
