Summary:
Responsible for planning, assessing and providing optimal Respiratory Management and Patient care for the normal and high risk neonatal/pediatric patient. The transport therapist is part of a team composed of a transport therapist, transport nurse and transport paramedic all of which are under the medical control of a Texas Licensed Physician. Modes of transport required to transfer patients includes ground ambulance, fixed wing aircraft and rotor wing aircraft.
Education:
Minimum 3 years recent Neonatal and/or Pediatric ICU experience (preferably at Cook Children's Medical Center) or current Neonatal/Pediatric Transport experience.Demonstrates evidence of continued professional growth.Physical and mental ability to carry out the described job responsibilities.
Certification/Licensure:
Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.Current BLS / CPRCurrent PALSCurrent NRP or must obtain within 90 days of hire.Current ACLS or must obtain within 90 days of hire.Current TNCC audit or Department approved equivalent or must obtain within 6 months of hire.Current Advanced Certification (in area of practice and/or as approved by CCMC and Teddy Bear Transport Management) or must obtain within 2 years of hire.
