Job Description Summary
GE's Power Conversion business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers' power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world's major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies.
As a New Graduate Engineer, you will rotate through several engineering departments along with manufacturing, test, and field service to gain exposure to many different parts of the business in a relatively short 12-month timeframe. Upon the completion of the 12-month rotation and training, the engineer will have developed skills while having a better understanding of a career path in which they wish to pursue, as they will have had exposure to many different aspects of engineering that GE Power Conversion has to offer. Learning technical skills while providing solutions to projects in both engineering and commissioning is a way for the new graduate engineer (or entry level professional) to work alongside many multidiscipline and multicultural engineers is what this rotation is about. Finding the best possible match for yourself and company through these rotations is the main goal. The pace is fast, work is technically challenging, and the reward of seeing your software and hardware solutions come to an operational state during commissioning of the applications is unmatched in the industries in which GE Power Conversion services. You will work to design power electronics for turning large AC and DC rotating machines, design high speed control loops for controlling high precision valves, and model electrical distribution circuits all in this short rotational period.
