Work you'll do
As an Network Security Engineer, you play a critical role in end-end management and operations of network firewalls implemented to support a state-wide integrated eligibility system. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and operating NextGen firewalls (F5 or Palo Alto). The candidate is expected to have extensive experience managing ACL, configuring and patching firewall/VPN/WAF/Load balancer solutions.
Responsibilities
Engineering and operations of mission critical network security infrastructure
Provide technical expertise while collaborating with project managers, engineers, developers and all levels of management to deliver service excellence and execute on strategic and tactical goals for network operations
Provide operations and engineering support for critical security systems and services; Firewall, Load Balancers, and VPN software
Partner with business and technical teams to maintain highly available, performant and cost-effective security systems and services
Elevate and expand our tooling including CI/CD pipeline and endpoint deployment automation capabilities
Serve as an escalation point for network security and operations incidents, providing outstanding service through timely, high quality issue resolution

Qualifications
Required:
4+ years' experience in in Network Security Engineering or consulting, and/or Systems Administration with focus on security (this should include experience with Firewall, Load Balancers, and VPN software).
3+ years of experience providing network security engineering and operations support of mission critical services
4+ years of experience with security systems, principles and technical architectures
4+ years of experience with advanced security protocols and standards, including a demonstrated ability to perform complex analysis
4+ years of experience with decoding network traces and capture files
4+ years of experience with NAC and the 802.1X IEEE standard
4+ years of experience with installation, configuration and operation of Next-Gen firewall appliances
Bachelor's degree
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Preferred:
Network architecture or security related certifications
Ideal candidate will have large-scale security, technology or ecommerce experience
Able to present and communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000 to $158,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
