Role:
Splunk seeks a talented network engineer to join our corporate network engineering team. As a vital team member, you will be pivotal in designing, constructing, and maintaining Splunk's global corporate, wireless, development, and production infrastructure within data center networks and public clouds.
The ideal candidate will bring a validated foundation and extensive experience supporting diverse environments, encompassing enterprise campus LAN and WAN, branch offices, wireless networks, hardware technology upgrades, and remote access. Exceptional customer service skills are imperative for success in this role, as the engineer will actively engage with stakeholders and collaborate with fellow employees. Daily operations support for Splunk's network infrastructure and services, including service metrics, projects, network upgrades, maintenance activities, and on-call rotation, will be integral to the position.
Responsibilities
Support the global network, remote access, and wireless infrastructure to facilitate rapid company growth.Contribute to complex projects such as routed access, SDWAN, code upgrades, etc.Install, operate, administer, and maintain corporate LAN and WAN networks.Support the remote workforce with VPN and remote access issues.Collaborate with the team to establish network service metrics and a scorecard.Influence plans and workflows for balanced growth and performance across all aspects of Splunk's network infrastructurePartner with Facilities, Security, AV, etc., on office expansion and remodel projectsRespond to network outages and perform deep root cause analysisSolve network connectivity issuesLead services SLA with timely trouble ticket resolution for end-user issuesSupport for network deployment and maintenance projectsAuthor network documents and train support team on network technologiesParticipate in 24x7 on-call rotationRequirements
5+ years of network engineering experience supporting extensive, global, multi-vendor enterprise infrastructureSolid grasp of network fundamentals and operationsAbility to explain complex technical situations with ease to stakeholdersMeticulous and detail-oriented with outstanding documentation capabilityProven knowledge of switching fundamentals such as Ethernet, VLANs, STP, HSRP, etc.Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OSExperience running and maintaining a 24x7 Internet-facing production environmentExperience building distributed systems and highly available servicesExperience with SNOW desiredExperience with automation tools and scripting a plusExperience using network diagnosis and packet analysis toolsStrong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and solve problems with speed and efficiencyAbility to self-motivate and handle prioritized, challenging tasksStrong customer focus and service skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to work after hours to support projects and maintenance activitiesSplunk is an Equal Opportunity Employer

Base Pay Range
Costa Rica
Base Pay: CRC 24,000,000.00 - 33,000,000.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
