Job Overview
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) provides expert Family-Centered Careacross the wellness-illness continuum, providing primary, acute, chronicand critical care to infants and toddlers up to age 2 years. In collaborationwith other health care providers the NNP will provide initial, ongoing andcomprehensive care, including taking complete histories; providingphysical examinations and diagnosing, treating and managing patients withacute and chronic illnesses and diseases. This includes ordering,performing, supervising, and interpreting laboratory and imagingstudies; prescribing medication and durable medical equipment; and makingappropriate referrals for patients and families. In addition, NNP care alsoincludes health promotion, disease prevention, health education, andcounseling. The NNP will function as a leader within nursing andinter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect,and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing & Master's Degree NNPExperience: Three years' combined experience as RN or NNP in a neonatalsetting. High risk neonatal setting experience preferred.
