Performs selected duties as directed,contributing to patient quality assurance with expertise and accurateresults. Understands the computer system use to maintain accuracy andthoroughness in patient lab billing. * Maintains patientconfidentiality. * Performs phlebotomy, and analytical testing inhematology, urinalysis, chemistry, serology and coagulation, maintainingdocumentation as required by regulations. * Performs and documentsquality control in all areas listed in #2. * Enters data in clinicalcomputer system. * Models awareness of and adherence to mission, visionand values of Prevea Health. * Models professional behavior and attirein laboratory and at meetings when representing the laboratory. *Always considers impact to patient care in decision-making. * Keepswork area clean, neat, and organized, complying with OSHA guidelines. *Is responsive to questions concerning laboratory testing from coworkers.* Maintains CPR certification and other required training. * Enhancesprofessional growth and development through continuing education. *Other duties as required or requested by supervisor, manager, ordirector. Specialized Responsibilities: Performance Requirements Goodverbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team,participating in reaching a goal, are necessary. Knowledge of currentmedical terminology. Must be able to follow written protocols, utilizingspecific laboratory training to perform laboratory testing. Must be ableto interpret and analyze numerical data in relation to known patientinformation and testing methodology,Education/Experience/Certifications: * Completion of accredited MedicalLaboratory program. * ASCP, AMT, or HHS certification required.Non-Essential Duties: Other duties as assigned within scope of practiceTypical Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion includingmanual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Frequent standingand walking required for extended periods of time. Ability to carryitems up to 50 pounds rarely.
