Description
The Mental Health Practitioner/Senior Mental Health Practitioner, under direct supervision of RN, provides nursing care to psychiatric patients by implementing and evaluating the established plan of care; carrying out assigned tasks; working collaboratively with members of the nursing and multidisciplinary team. Incumbent shall also have skills, knowledge and ability to plan, implement and evaluate individual, small and large activity groups. Performance will be reviewed twice during the probationary period, and annually thereafter.
Floating to other psychiatric units may be required dependent upon staffing needs
Salary range: $28.55-$37.69 HourlyQualifications
We're seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated professional with:
BLS - American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer required
Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Sciences - required
One year experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting or equivalent required
Policies and procedures of the Neuropsychiatric Hospital and legal requirements related to the care of patients.
Establish written goals and objectives for each activity.
Plan and implement individual, large and small group programs/activities.
Evaluate patients' strength and problem areas.
Modify and/or adapt group techniques to improve individual and/or group treatment outcomes.
Physically participate in patient activities.
Physically apply holds, restraints, and protective devices.
Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group activities to psychiatric patients on an acute psychiatric inpatient unit
