Who We Are
We are a team comprised of health care professionals, certified medical coders, medical writers, and company key stakeholders who develop and maintain medical policies and other clinical guidelines that provide the Company’s foundation for evidence-based medicine and ensure efficient, accurate, and consistent coverage of services. We additionally publish medical policies on our external Company websites, create plain-language content that is used to explain denial decisions to members, and provide communications about our medical policies.
We support the Company’s enterprise strategy through planning, strategically consulting and aligning with Premera’s business unit goals and facilitate strategic initiatives. The Medical Policy Business Solutions Analyst acts as an internal consultant and is responsible for the evaluation of business needs to develop new or modified operating methods and systems, analyzing, and developing business requirements and recommending cost effective solutions. This position also supports the team by way of project management and translating materials that are complex in nature into easily understood content.
What you will do:
Work with department management to identify key business issues and recommend action plans.
Act as an internal consultant providing guidance on complex analytical projects and planning resources to meet project deadlines.
Facilitate cross-functional teams in designing business solutions.
Interface with management at all levels of the company within the scope of assigned projects to ensure quality and timeliness of projects.
Perform independent problem analyses and resolution.
Collect data and provide analyses for a broad array of issues across disciplines and functional areas.
Sole responsibility for medium to large-size analytical projects.
Prepare preliminary interpretation of analysis for project teams and/or department management.
Prepare reports synthesizing results and outlining business cases.
Support management in presentations to all levels of business management, including senior management translating complicated concepts into information is understandable and actionable.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s Degree or four (4) years’ work experience. (Required)
Five (5) years’ experience in consulting, or analytical business experience. (Required)
Prior health care or health industry experience.
Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation
Excellent communicator in both written and verbal formats and a strong attention to detail

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
National Salary Range:
$67,800.00 - $98,400.00
National Plus Salary Range:
$67,800.00 - $112,200.00
*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska .
