Job Summary:
The Medical Biller prepares outgoing claims by working charge edits and processes payments from insurances.
The Medical Biller position is also responsible for processing charge entries both manual and electronic. Reviews encounters in the EMR and PM system, benefits, eligibility, and other tasks as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Review EMR and PM system encounters, adjusts charge tasks, manages charge edits, and make charge corrections Editing and correcting insurances, checking the CPT and ICD- 10 codes, verifying visit type, verify that correct modifier is listed and follow up Provide input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function Resolve most questions and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher levels Review/run infusion and injection eligibility Create patient estimates prior to infusion services Add/attach authorization and referral information as needed Processing accounting receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables' data Importing and posting both manual and electronic payments including posting patient responsibility Utilizing payer websites and the lockbox as necessary to obtain EOB's and 835's for posting Work insurance correspondence and forward to claims resolution as necessary Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted Verify discrepancies and resolve clients' billing issues as needed Attach infusion and injection sheets. Process both patient and insurance refunds Review patient accounts for collections

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience
Required Qualifications:
1+ years of A/R Medical Billing experience including Claims Status, claim appeals/reconsiderations, charge entry, payment entry and AR follow-up Experience with and understanding of ICD10 and CPT coding - including modifiers Proven working experience as Biller or similar field Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations Basic computer skills with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records Proven data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Athena EMR PM Systems Experience with Medicare and Medicaid billing Proven high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Colorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $16.00 to $31.44 per hour.
