  MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Master Field Technician in Timonium , MD to support our fast-growing In-Building Wireless Solutions division.

  WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING :

  Supervising all installation and support of various cable types (coaxial, fiber, Cat 5/6, etc.) in commercial environments to meet desired quality standards.  

  Supporting Lead Technicians during projects. 

  Supervising all projects.  

  Demonstratingproficiency and quality in installing project-specific components and equipment consistent with manufacturer and company standards.  

  Using hand and power tools as well as specialty tools.  

  Demonstrating the ability to work in a professional manner at all job sites. 

  Diagnosing problems and directing the troubleshooting process with equipment, as necessary.  

  Assisting in the completion of installations in a diverse range of buildings (including stadiums, motor speedways, hospitals, schools, and office buildings. 

  Maintaining safe, clean, and orderly tools and work area.  

  Assisting in the completion of all required paperwork and documentation.  

  Maintaining customer confidence by performing outstanding work.

  WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM :

  3 years of technical experience, or a combination of related education/experience.

  Hands-on experience with project-specific OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer.

  Knowledge of basic electrical theory including grounding.  

  Ability to operate industry-specific installation and test equipment which includes OTDR, fusion splicer, and coaxial line sweep equipment. (Specific Training provided by the company).    

  Ability to work with laptop computers and data recording/sharing applications such as Excel, Word, Adobe, etc. 

  Willingness to learn new technologies in public safety and wireless communications and equipment. 

  Demonstrate ability to read and understand design plans and bills of material.  

  Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.  

  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, establish priorities, work independently as part of a team, and proceed with objectives without supervision.  

  Must be able to interact and communicate professionally.  

  Proven track record of reliability, integrity, and responsibility.  

  Ability to travel as needed. 

  YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PH YSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.

  On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.

  TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
