Job Description
What you will be doing:
Produce, maintain and communicate marketing plans, calendars and tactics to support the department's strategic direction and its role in achieving wider business goals and objectives
Report on overall effectiveness of hotel marketing and public relations campaigns and contribute to hotel debriefs for future learning and improvement
Serve as brand steward, maintaining style guides and providing oversight across the business on adherence to our brand positioning
Oversee creative development and design for all marketing activities (including but not limited to copy writing, photo management and graphic design for email newsletters, websites, advertising, hotel collateral and restaurant menus)
Manage content updates fairmont.com, fairmont-vancouver-airport.com, globeyvr.com and other third party sites
Oversee the hotel’s social media strategy including: content, posting schedule, engagement metrics, reputation management and paid campaigns
Lead photo/video shoots, including sourcing suppliers, planning, creative direction and on-set guidance
Manage annual budget, monthly forecast and accruals for expenses related to marketing and public relations
Support Food & Beverage team and other departments with planning of seasonal events
Work with revenue management to determine need periods and support with tactical marketing
Work with operations to develop new and unique offerings to enhance the guest experience, drive revenue and create new stories
Liaise with partnership agencies to ensure maximum exposure for the hotel (Visit Richmond, Destination Vancouver, Destination BC, YVR, etc.)
Work with Regional Digital Marketing on regional initiatives and property level campaigns
Work with Regional Public Relations on regional initiatives and property level activities including media relations, media hosting and release writing
Maintain knowledge in and provide recommendations for emerging trends across the industry as well as wider brand and marketing applications
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
Diploma or degree in a related discipline and minimum 5 years’ previous experience in a marketing/communications role, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity
The communications trifecta: excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly organized and detail-oriented, and above all, a team player.
Highly motivated self-starter capable of delivering on a diverse range of projects, often involving tight deadlines and competing priorities
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and MS Office applications
Proven organizational planning and project management skills
Digital marketing and social media experience
As a condition of employment, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and able to provide appropriate proof of vaccination prior to start date
