Role Summary

Splunk is looking for a Solutions Engineering Manager to join the Americas Global Shared Services (GSS) Solutions Engineering (SE) organization. In this role you will oversee a remote organization of SE generalists that support the Commercial and Field SEs across the Americas/Public Sector theater. By delivering one-off tasks, partial opportunity work, and full opportunity services. GSS SEs help lower the cost of sale and accelerate sales cycles while enabling SEs across all theaters to scale their time and bandwidth.

What you'll get to do

Develop and lead a strong solutions engineering shared services team from fresh graduates to industry experts, primarily focusing on operational excellence and cultivating talent

Align efforts with organizational goals and sales objectives by setting benchmarks and measuring team performance

Foster sales partnerships, attend weekly forecast calls, and drive initiatives

Build a team culture of continuous development and efficiency, in addition to encouraging risk-taking and creative problem-solving

Conduct team meetings, 1:1 sessions, manage operations, and ensure SLA adherence

Conduct talent calibration sessions and oversee team development plans

Stay active in communication channels, complete required training

Strong leadership of diverse and inclusive teams

Use metrics to demonstrate and communicate; Partner with the supporting teams to build and share reports/metrics/dashboards that are meaningful to stakeholders and measure performance, volumes quality

Understand GSS hiring processes, maintain candidate pipelines, and manage administrative tasks. Ensure policy compliance and oversee time-off requests and coverage

Support effective inclusive recruiting, training, coaching, team-building, and succession planning to build engaged and diverse teams passionate about a growth mindset

Commit to continuous development, meet GSS SE Manager MBOs, stay updated on Splunk's products, and collaborate on quarterly objectives

Must-have Qualifications

This person must be located in Central time zone, prior people management experience is crucial

1-3 years of first line leadership experience leading an Inside SE or Virtual SE organization

Experience working in the software industry, specifically with Solutions Engineers selling SaaS products

Technically curious and able to articulate the value that technology brings to solving customer problems

Proven communication skills – written and oral. Ability to communicate complex ideas cross functionally across leadership and individual contributor levels both internally and externally

Ability to lead diverse groups of people and able to challenge and develop the team to exceed their goals both personally and professionally

Strong ability to inspire others, support an inclusive culture and role model for Splunk’s values

Note:

OTE Pay Ranges

For sales roles the ranges are expressed as On Target Earning or OTE (OTE = base + incentives in the form of sales incentive plans).

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

On Target Earnings: $216,000.00 - 297,000.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), New York (excludes NYC Metro Area), and all other states.

On Target Earnings: $212,000.00 - 291,500.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
