We are seeking a Manager for our Unit 42 Threat Intelligence team to lead the Intel Response Unit Reactive Engagement Team. This team plays a critical role in providing timely, actionable threat intelligence and response capabilities to help protect our customers and internal stakeholders.
Your Impact
As the Manager of the Intel Response Unit Reactive Engagement Team, your primary responsibilities will include:
Embedded Intelligence Support: Partner with the Unit 42 front line response teams, serving as a bridge between these teams and the Threat Intelligence team. Provide intelligence support to cases and track activity with intelligence value, including cases that may require support outside of normal business hours. Help set a vision and enhance processes to improve the impact of intelligence collaboration with front line teams. People Management and Career Development: Manage and mentor a team of analysts within the Intel Response Unit Reactive Engagement Team. Foster their professional growth, provide guidance, and facilitate skill development to ensure a high-performing and cohesive team.Engaging in a Request for Information (RFI) Process: Contribute to an Intelligence RFI process supporting executives, customers, and other Palo Alto Networks team members. Leverage knowledge of front line response team efforts to support RFI responses. Work with the Intel Response Unit Senior Manager to develop efficient workflows, documentation, and communication channels to facilitate the gathering and dissemination of relevant threat intelligence information.Participating in Rapid Response Efforts: Support the Intelligence Response Unit’s mission as the point organization for major cyber events, such as Log4j, SolarWinds, and other emerging threats across all of Palo Alto Networks. Lead or assist with rapid response efforts, providing timely coordination across teams, incident triage, containment recommendations, and resolution guidance.Leveraging Unique Data Holdings: Harness the full weight of the company's unique data holdings, including product telemetry, front line Incident Response (IR) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) data, and Intel Holdings. Utilize these resources to produce the most unique and valuable insights, enhancing the effectiveness and differentiation of our threat intelligence capabilities.Contributing to External Engagement: Develop engaging and informative content, including blogs and updates on major cyber events. Contribute to thought leadership initiatives by sharing insights and expertise internally, with customers, and at security conferences.Cross-Organizational Collaboration: Collaborate with threat analysts, consultants, product managers, and engineers from various teams and departments within the organization. Foster strong relationships and coordinate joint efforts to address complex threats that span multiple areas of expertise. Qualifications Your Experience
Proven experience developing teams of analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and career growth.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and triage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of cyber adversary groups, tactics, and techniques.Experience integrating cyber threat intelligence into front line response, including demonstrated ability to coordinate with cross-organizational threat analysts, facilitating collaboration, and aligning efforts to achieve common goals.Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex threat intelligence information to diverse audiences.If you are a dedicated and experienced cybersecurity professional with a passion for threat intelligence, collaborating with front line response teams, and team leadership, we invite you to join our dynamic organization as the Manager of our Intel Response Unit Reactive Engagement Team. “The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. We intend to offer a starting salary (includes on-target earnings = base + on target incentives for sales roles) between $157,900yr to $197,400]/yr. Unit 42 brings together our world-renowned threat researchers with an elite team of security consultants to create an intelligence-driven, response ready organization. The Unit 42 Threat Intelligence team provides threat research that enables security teams to understand adversary intent and attribution, while enhancing protections offered by our products and services to stop advanced attacks. As threats escalate, Unit 42 is available to advise customers on the latest risks, assess their readiness, and help them recover when the worst occurs.
