Summary:The construction manager leads a team of construction professionals within adefined area to ensure safe, efficient, and on time/on budget executionof construction activities.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Promotes and demonstrates a commitment to safe work culture.Detailed knowledge of company policies and procedures, industry practices,construction standards, welding procedures, and OSHA rules and regulations.Manage the daily activities, roles and responsibilities of assignedconstruction supervisors and 3rd party construction management/inspectionpersonnel.Responsible for area construction activities being compliant with theappropriate standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.Effectively manage the bid process, selection of contractors, and the useof service providers to ensure cost effectiveness and compliance with thepolicies and procedures.Works closely with project managers, engineers, analysts, operations,and measurement to ensure project requirements are met.Participate in PID reviews, construction kickoff, mechanical/I&Ewalkdown & commissioning.Audit of project documentation to confirm compliance with internal policiesand procedures as well as external agency audits.
Requirements:Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills & Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position arelisted below:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceMinimum 8+ years related experience which should include a good knowledge ofindustry practices, liquid and gas facility and pipeline constructionstandards, welding procedures, pipeline maintenance and operations.Preferred: API 1169 - Pipeline Construction Inspector Certification, AWSCWI, API 653Microsoft Office, Microsoft ProjectExcellent communication and organizational skills.Working Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative ofthose an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of thisjob.Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.Daily driving to active projects, walking on uneven terrain, ascendingstairs, and crossovers, and working in confined spaces.Exposure to adverse winter weather and extreme hot/cold temperatures.Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include exposure tovarious materials and chemicals and loud machinery and require appropriatepersonal protective equipment.Occasional overnight travel may be required.
