Responsibilities
Join Baker Tilly as a Manager, Business and Transaction Advisory in our fast-growing New England Advisory practice. Our team works with a diverse set of clients ranging from pre-revenue startups to middle-market companies and public organizations across various industries, including technology, life sciences, healthcare, digital assets, manufacturing, distribution, professional services, financial institutions, and cannabis.
As a Manager, you will contribute to the New England Advisory practice's growth initiatives by exemplifying strong business acumen and otherwise representing as a leader amongst a growth-minded team consisting of strong personalities and dynamic skillsets.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage, produce, and advise on buy-side and sell-side engagements including those related to the quality of earnings, net working capital, debt-like items, and risk areas in support of inorganic growth initiatives of middle market companies and private equity investors;Manage, produce, and advise on complex financial planning and analysis engagements including those related to the forecast of business initiatives, the optimization of capital structure, the analysis of entity structure vs. restructure, and the return on investment to business owners, financial management, investors, and other parties;Lead meetings with client management teams and third-party stakeholders, both in person and virtually, or otherwise exhibit exceptional customer service in managing the engagement or supporting the go-to-market pursuit;Provide advisory support for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions by conducting due diligence and legal agreement analysis; researching new legislation and accounting pronouncements and their impact on such activities, and creating strategies that consider the Internal Revenue Code and changes thereto;Ensure the meticulous compilation of target company financial data to analyze historical and projected financial and operating trends while informing critical due diligence decisions and their impact on the future;Manage the development and maintenance of financial models to analyze earnings, forecast outcomes, and evaluate scenarios, including enhancing tools and processes to innovate client support;Lead and mentor junior team members by providing coaching, sharing knowledge, reviewing work, and preparing detailed performance evaluations inclusive of constructive feedback.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field;5+ years of relevant experience in finance, business advisory, or related field;CPA or CFA designation or candidacy is a plus;Ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects while working under tight deadlines when necessary;Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, project management and communication skills required;Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to create and manage spreadsheets, work with formulas and functions, and analyze and manipulate data at an advanced level;Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to prepare and manage reports in Microsoft Word and presentations in PowerPoint;Demonstrated familiarity with US GAAP;Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
