About Manager, Accounting

  Manager, Accounting

Capital One has an exciting opportunity within the Regulatory Reporting team. We are looking for someone with strong analytical, collaboration, and communication competencies with the ability to multitask and prioritize diverse and time-sensitive tasks. This role will lead the preparation, analysis, and reporting by ensuring accurate and timely data sourcing and analysis of financial information submitted to U.S. and Canadian regulators.

The Manager role will gain a deep understanding of Capital One's lines of business, transactions, and products relative to regulatory reporting requirements. Furthermore, this role will be surrounded by intellectually curious professionals every day, with the shared goal of creating a seamless, well managed, and controlled regulatory reporting process.

  Responsibilities:

  • Leadership over Regulatory Reporting in key subject matter areas while ensuring that processes, controls, and change management are well managed, governed, and demonstrable to regulatory agencies and internal lines of defense

  • Lead the preparation and review of schedules produced for the FFIEC 031 (Call Report), FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP, FR Y-15 and other significant regulatory filings

  • Engage and contribute to enterprise-wide data transformation, automation, process, and control opportunities as regulatory reporting drives to target state

  • Support the development and delivery of presentations and detailed analytical packages supporting governance, process execution, and management reporting to Senior Leadership

  • Enhance reconciliation and analytics to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy of data submitted and reported to regulators and the public

  • Research accounting treatment and reporting requirements to support business transactions and responses to management and regulator inquiries regarding reporting, variances, and process controls

  • Support detailed analysis and testing related to the implementation of new products, business transactions, and changes in regulatory reporting requirements

  • Ensure collaborative relationships with multiple partners and upstream data providers to understand trends, products, and changes that may impact data sourcing, analysis, and regulatory reporting

  • Drive resolution of issues through working closely with accounting, treasury, and technology partners including escalation and reporting to management on status and next steps

  Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of Accounting, Finance, or Auditing experience, or a combination

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification and/or CFA certification

  • At least 6 years of Accounting, Finance, or Auditing experience

  • 3+ years of external reporting experience

  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
