Become a Major Construction Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll be in the Programs group within the Major Projects Organization of SCE's Transmission & Distribution (T&D) organization. You will lead diverse teams in the management of multiple capital projects and programs within SCE's service territory, including projects for development of electric substation and transmission facilities, infrastructure replacement, and execution of related strategic capital programs. These projects typically have high visibility with financial and operational impacts.

Manage cross functional project team members using internal and external resources to support the successful execution of projects from initiation through closure. Manage and track project performance (e.g., scope, schedule, and cost), prepare routine status reports and updates. Ensure that vital documentation and approvals are obtained for any changes requested to project scope, cost, or schedule. Analyze and develop solutions to complex project issues to ensure alignment and consistency, with internal and external policies and goals. Spend a significant amount of time in the field supporting engineering, procurement, and project construction activities. Collaborate with external customers and/or stakeholders as needed to coordinate project activities and communicate status. Manage, communicate, document, and control key project risk elements.
Qualifications
The essentials
Seven years or more of project management experience managing project cost, scope, and schedule. Five (5) or more years of project management experience involving transmission, distribution, substation and/or other utility industry facilities.
The preferred
Bachelor's Degree or higher level of education in Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related field. Experience specifying and managing project cost/budget, scope, schedule, and resources, managing vendors, and supervising formal project planning, tracking, reporting, change management, and risk management. Experience leading direct interactions with external stakeholders, including regulatory permitting agencies, local cities/counties, and state/federal organizations. Two years or more of experience managing more than 10 projects concurrently. Experience with schedule development and management, and experience using Primavera and or MS Project scheduling software. Project Management Certification or Degree. Proficiency with MS Office suite. Project leadership skills, including attention to safety, problem solving, communication, teamwork, continuous improvement, and strong interpersonal skills including influence and negotiation.
You should know
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. Position will require up to 40% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation does not apply to this position.
