Key Job ActivitiesResponsible for transporting waste from a Stericycle location or customerlocation, to another Stericycle transfer location or processing location.All Company assigned vehicles are equipped with camera telematics whichinclude inside and outside cameras. In addition, all vehicles are equippedwith ELD (electronic logging device), GPS (global positioningsystem), and sleeper berth.
o Manages assigned routes ensuring that waste is transported in a safe,timely, and accurate mannero Responsible for picking up and transporting waste safely according to allfederal, state, and local rules and regulationso Follows routing software route scheduleo Plans daily/weekly schedule based on Stericycle or customer needs byreviewing daily paperwork, e.g., manifest, route sheets, previousVCR, etc. provided by Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatchero Routes may be overnight up to 4 nights weekly, and require sleeping inthe sleeper berth of the trucko Communicates any issues to Transportation Manager/Supervisor and/orDispatcher for resolutiono Ensures load is secured and placarded if required prior to operatingvehicle on public highwayo Planned drop and hook operationo Must be able to push/pull light or heavy objectso Must be experienced with mountain driving and ability to use chains asneeded due to weathero Ensures that assigned paperwork is completed legibly, neatly,accurately, and completely and returned to TransportationManager/Supervisor or Dispatcher, at the time of debriefing, for processingo Communicates with Stericycle Transportation Manager/Supervisor and/orDispatcher regarding any change to pickups. Driver is expected to provide thehighest level of customer service at all times. Reports any problems/issueswith accounts to the Transportation Manager/Supervisor and/or Dispatcherbefore the close of business each dayo Performs a documented pre-trip inspection on vehicles prior to leaving yardto commence route. Performs a documented post-trip inspection on vehiclesprior to being debriefed for end of route. Reports any maintenance problemsto Transportation Manager/Supervisor and/or Dispatcher for follow-up.Ensures all defects have been corrected prior to operating the vehicles again.Use of ELD (electronic logging device) and Geotab to log hours per DOTguidelio Attend all required company meetings and adhere to all safety practices andcompany policies.o Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle atvarying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclementweather or in tight loading dock areas.o Punctual, regular, and reliable attendance is essential.o Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
ExperienceHigh School Diploma, Driving School or equivalent3+ Years of Experience driving tractor trailer required. Previous longhaul driving including mountain driving experience preferredExperience utilizing chains while drivingMaintains current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), withan excellent driving recordDoubles, Triples Endorsements a plusDemonstrates ability to read a map and follow turn by turn direction onelectronic devicesDemonstrates general computer skills and knowledge of internetMay require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customerrequirementsMust work safely and carefully to prevent injury to self and others whiledriving, loading, and unloading vehicle
