JOB PURPOSE
This is a senior and visible role within the UK & Ireland Logistics team which will have a significant impact in the current and future shape of Unilever UK & I ambient operations. The role holder will be passionate about logistics and supply chain operations and have proven capability within this field. It is an exciting time to seize opportunities and the role holder will be empowered to make decisions which can quickly make a difference for our customers, teams, cost and the environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
OPERATIONALGovernance of Distribution Center safety, quality and security of ambient warehousing working alongside third party partnersBudget responsibility for multi-million spend across UKI outsourced ambient warehousesDirect line management responsibility for operational teamLead internal logistics contact within Business Unit teams with responsibility for leading the logistics roadmap to deliver GM improvement Benchmark Distribution Center operations to become best in class and lead improvement roadmap Align with strategic vision for Business Units to ensure capability at optimal cost External focus and collaboration as necessary Key contact with EU Logistics performance and Strategy and Innovation team for future directionLead internal logistics contact for inventory, space and capacity management within the ambient network, working closely with UKI Ambient Transport Manager to ensure the network is optimisedSTRATEGICResponsible for scoping, contributing to and part of executing longer term plans for UKI ambient network ensuring we meet necessary safety and sustainability standardsInvolvement in operational decision making on D-Comm routes to marketDefine and lead UK & I Logistics automation and data and analytics roadmap utilising internal and external expertiseExternal focus and collaboration with other logistics, supply chain or retailer organisationsKey KPIs: Safety, CCFOT, DC cost % TO by BU, CPPKey InterfacesBusiness Operations - Planning, Customer Experience, Digital & Analytics, logistics teams, factory teamsBusiness Unit teams, EU logistics Strategy and Innovation, EU Logistics Performance team, EU customs team, Regulatory, procurement, Engineering, legalGlobal/EU - logistics, Uni-ops3P Service Providers, Site landlordsCustomer Development & Marketing ALL ABOUT YOU Proven experience in a fast-paced Logistics and Supply Chain management environmentProven experience in Logistics management and supply chain managementAchievement of logistics based KPI's and a demonstrable background of inspirational and collaborative leadershipExcellent planning and organisational skills, able to prioritise.Success in driving operational performance to deliver continuous improvementLine management experience and coaching skillsExcellent communication and presentation skillsExperience of business case developmentInvolvement in strategic decision makingLeadership of cross functional projects or initiativesData management and analysisNOTES

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever's recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
