ResponsibilitiesResponsible for performing a variety of duties relating to the loan review function in order to assist in the ongoing management of credit risk; achieving goals as established in the department's annual operating plan; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the loan review function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries and equests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing reports.
Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion.Perform various duties relating to the loan review function in order to assist in the ongoing management of credit risk as follows:Conduct thorough credit reviews to analyze adherence to loan policy and procedure, credit quality collateral valuation and loan documentationIndependently review, risk grade and critique the Bank's loan portfolios as they relate to the Banks risk rating system, banking industry best practices and the Bank's risk appetite.Provide specific reports generated as a result of the duties outlined above as well as other reports as needed to fully analyze credit in the portfolio.Be capable of working with minimal supervison while meeting established production requirements and review schedule deadlines.Comply with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the Bank's adherence to outside regulatory requirements.Provide quality service to customer, whether internal or external.Demonstrate cooperative efforts in working with other departments and within own department. Achieves goals assigned to the Loan Reviewer III as part of the department's annual operating plan.Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.Responds to inquiries relating to her/his particular area, or to requests from other Bank personnel within given time frame and within established policy.Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports; reports on new loans and delinquencies to the Board of Directors.Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion
Qualifications* A minimum of five (5) years of commercial credit evaluation experience.
* Commercial lending, commercial underwriting, special assets, and/or loan review experience and training.
* Experience with agricultural lending would be desirable.
* Thorough understanding of GAAP and cash basis accounting.
* BS or BA degree in related field.
* Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
* Proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills.
* A thorough knowledge of current bank lending principles, policies, and practices.
* Knowledge of all types of lending and loan products.
* Proficient financial statement analysis skills.
* Knowledge of current lending and collection laws and regulations.
* Proficiency in Personal Computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
