The position
Legal (LEG) is the competence unit for all legal matters related to the Equinor group’s business areas and corporate activities and consist of legal experts, specialists, consultants and qualified support personnel. The department has overall responsibility for advising on all legal matters and on ethics and anti-corruption compliance, undertaking Integrity Due Diligence research and acting as the Corporate Bodies’ secretariat within the Equinor group.
By joining our team in Legal as a Manger for Trade Controls you will have the opportunity to:
Become a trusted advisor and manager within the compliance team.
Work with all business areas in Equinor, including both Norwegian and International activity, and provide advice regarding compliance with trade controls. advising on restrictions and where possible finding solutions to ensure compliance with relevant laws.
Coordinate and manage legal advice from your team to Equinor management and decision makers.
Drive the Equinor Trade Controls compliance program forward, ensuring that it is fit for purpose and adapts to a changing geopolitical picture.
Lead a team of two other Trade Control specialists and be part of the Chief Compliance Officer's management committee.

For this position, we are also looking for:
Someone who is qualified as a lawyer/advokat in either Norway, the UK or US.
Significant work experience as a lawyer (not all experience has to have been within the field of trade controls/compliance).
Knowledge and working experience of dealing with sanctions and/or export controls.
A professional level of English both spoken and written.
An international mindset and good collaboration skills.
Currently based in or willing to relocate to London (UK), or Oslo, Stavanger, or Bergen (Norway).
Some experience dealing with regulators or governmental bodies is preferred.
