Position Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing special projects, monitoring KPI's, and adherence to departmental SOX Controls. Lead will also supervise the day-to-day operations of the Port Analyst team, ensuring that work is equitably distributed and that performance levels are maintained. Lead will actively work with internal and external customers and will be engaged with external vendors on system improvements. The Lead is also responsible for generating and compiling reports related to planning, forecasting and month end analysis. The lead will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to maximize the benefit
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop familiarity with various in-house databases and achieve competency in analyzing operating results contained withinReview Business rules and tariff calculations into functional system syntax within propriety systems (Taxes and Fees Tool)Access, extract, download, manipulate, and assist in analyses of data contained with internal databases. Analyze results of data extractions and summarize and present analytical findings and assist in the development of operational action plansConduct quality assurance on data within business systems.Develop and produce reporting from key systems, and financial processes.Support and assist Port Operations and other departments in ad-hoc data manipulation efforts required for their projectsParticipate in special projects as requested by Operating Group; build cohesive working relationships with other departmentsInteract with various departments on Operational and financial issues and enhancements Assist Management in areas of analysis projects, Committee involvement on specific projects and training and/or development of staff
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:
Bachelor's Business, Business Administration, Finance or related fieldGraduate degree plus 4-6 years' experience in Finance, Accounting is desirable.Hyperion experience preferred ' Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project proficiency required ' Demonstrated experience with project and systems managementAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, presentations, business correspondence, and procedures manuals. Ability to interact effectively with others and lead teams towards resultsAbility to effectively present information to top management, public groups..Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
