Summary:
The Lead Pharmacy Tech will assist management in the coordination of pharmacy services provided by technicians through leadership, training, and overseeing workflow. This position will also assure that pharmacy services comply with policies and procedures of the pharmacy department, state, and federal regulations. Lead technician should be familiar with purchase practices, including but not limited to purchase of drugs, policy in regards to borrowing/loaning medication, and charging/crediting patient doses). Must be competent in central pharmacy and oral preparation duties, advanced Omnicell , narcotic processing and reporting, Meditech processing, filling, and reports. Must be able to maintain all pharmacy automation in relation to medication preparation under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
ACPE IV certification required.
Qualifications:
High School or Equivalent. Knowledge of math, the metric system, pharmaceutical chemistry, and medical terminology is essential.Knowledge of computers and demonstrable skills with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferredMust have a minimum of 1 year of Cook Children's Central pharmacy experience and gained knowledge in advanced areas.TCT completion is requiredPharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy, Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Texas Pharmacy Intern LicenseACPE IV certification required
