Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division is currently seeking a Lead Negotiation and Application Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Switchgear Modernization team from a technical and commercial perspective!
The expected annual salary range for this role is $88,499 - $129,799 a year.

What you’ll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
The Lead Negotiation & Application Engineer provides application and quotation/negotiation support for Eaton’s engineering services sales group, as well as the Industrial and Utility sales verticals, specifically focused on the Switchgear Modernization product line.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DIMENSIONS
-Develop proposals / quotations utilizing technical and commercial proposal writing.
-Be the primary point of contact for any assigned customers or product lines.
-Assess pricing strategies through market intelligence and margin targets.
-Become familiar with Enovia and AS400 systems to understand various product structures and review material costs.
-Track negotiation and order hit rate, monitor for customer / channel partner effectiveness.
-Provide proposals for and administer change notices for existing orders
-Read and interpret electrical drawings provided in bid packages (specifications, one lines, floor plans, schematics, etc.) as well as photos and other information. Create detailed comments and exceptions.
-Close orders based on technical expertise and selling skills.
-Consult with engineering team on new product development while meeting all applicable standards.
-Contribute to, review, and modify product line documentation, website continent and literature.
-Process orders entered with complete information, request any missing information, assist engineering with job specific questions.
-Become subject matter expert and provide product presentations and trainings to Eaton sales, Reps, Distributors, facility managers, and end users.
-Travel to field offices and customer locations when required to address customer needs.
-Maintain proper and professional communications with internal and external customers. Handle commercial situations with tact.
-Be actively involve in personal professional growth and development.
-Actively support Division Initiatives
-Respond to requests from NAS Sales, Utility & Other Reps and Channel Partners.
-Provide unique solutions beyond the standard specifications to provide greater customer value
-Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
Qualifications:
BASIC (REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS
-Engineering Degree from an accredited institution
-5 years minimum electrical industry experience
-Must be able to Travel up to 15-25% of time
-Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work location(s) listed on the posting. No relocation is being offered.
-Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Proposal experience
-Professional Engineer registration
-Engineering Degree (Electrical Preferred)
-Presentation Skills
-Technical Training capabilities
-Experience with proposal development for all of Eaton's end markets (Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare, Utility, Institutional and Government).
-Being able to evaluate proposals for specification compliance
