PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLeads the development and successful implementation on Target India Compensation policies and programs that have been conceptualized in partnership with the local and global Pay & Benefits teamsWorks closely with Target India senior leadership, HR, HQ Compensation and HQ Pay Process to build consensus and support for the India Compensation Strategy.Example: Finalizes the comparator company list from TA and business requirement, job matching, leads the building and implementation of Target in India's annual pay ranges, pay benchmarking results and other specific analysis requestsLeads the implementation of Compensation policies and programs.Example: Special shift allowance policy, Rewards and recognition program, Pay system changesDevelops the approach for administering Target India Compensation programs.Example: Communicates changes in programs, Compensation/promotion decision automation and India HRG queries, Modification and tailoring of pay program content for business leaders or HR leader led trainingBuilds and manages relationships with local Pay consultants and vendors. Looks for innovative ways to maximize the value that Target India receives from these relationships.Example: Pay benchmarking vendor selection based on cost and comparator database, Representing Target India at external conferences to network and gather industry intelligence, influences vendors to include Target India in its participation for industry surveys, uses global partnerships to gain financial leverage for local contractsWorks with Leaders, HRBPs and Talent Acquisition to effectively communicate Target India's Compensation philosophy and educate team members on the value of Total RewardsExample: APP Leader Training, Translating competitor offers into potential Target offers, New Joiner Orientation for Total RewardsManages and monitors pay budgets and toolsExample: Manages R&R budget and is responsible for the maintenance and enhancements to the tool, Reports off-cycle performance awards and retention bonusesOwns and drives organization-wide special projects from time-to-timeExample: Market-research and recommendations to revamp the Rewards & Recognition program, Develops total rewards statement solutions, Develops intelligent communication solutions to build awareness and utilization of our benefits portfolio
OTHER REQUIREMENTSMBA from tier 2 business schools. Graduates with an exception professional record in this space may be considered.Prior experience of 8 - 10 years in compensation related operations, C&B consulting preferably from a technology, technology-enabled, e-Commerce organization or GIC or survey data providerDeep expertise in budgeting, job matching and job evaluation frameworks (Aon Hi-Tech/ BPO/ Retail, Mercer IPE/ Willis Towers Watson GG system, Aon JE Framework)Strong network of peers in competitor organizationsAwareness of market landscape and practices specifically in the area of compensationVery strong on advanced spreadsheet functions, project management and problem-solving with an ability to formulate independent points of view
