Position Overview
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a talented Blizzard-savvy Japanese Language Specialist to support localization of Blizzard products and services. This person will be supporting to oversee the localization quality and review of localized assets by collaborating with various partners, be the vision holder of the Localized Blizzard experience.
The ideal candidate for this position is a passionate individual with a linguistic background, and knowledge of the gaming and entertainment industry. The candidate will also strive to deliver delightful, trustworthy user experiences. Good language skills in Japanese and English are required for this position.
**This opportunity offers a 1-year direct contract employment with Activision Blizzard Japan. The contract term may be extended for an additional short term depending on internal circumstances.
Responsibilities
Supports the language decision makers and creative cohesion end-to-endProvide linguistic feedback and recommendations to vendors and other in-house localization teams to uphold Blizzard quality standardsAim to improve player engagement and driving quality and efficiencyComplete all projects in timely mannerOther editorial projects that require cross-functional collaborationJob title may change depending on the candidate's experience and skillset.

Experience
Experience of various CAT Tools (MemoQ, Trados, etc.)
Skills & Knowledge
Good knowledge of localization and quality control tools and basic familiarity with the translation and dubbing industry in the marketGood grammar, orthography knowledge and communication skills in Japanese and EnglishAble to deliver professional feedback tailored to target audienceSufficient communication skills for effective dialogue with stakeholderBeing aware of sensitive issues (historical, political, social) in Japanese culture and history
