About the Job
An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sommelier to join the team of Pai Thai . The main duties and responsibilities of this role are: :
Demonstrate a commitment to uphold and embody the distinctive hallmarks of Jumeirah's service excellence.
Control and monitor wine orders, stock, and par levels.
Pick up wines from stores after thorough order and quantity checks.
Maintain wine chillers at the correct temperature and keep temperature records.
Communicate any necessary changes to outlet wine lists and standards in coordination with outlet managers/Beverage Manager.
Update stock rotation and minimize wastage by managing opened bottles judiciously.
Ensure all tables are attended during service, focusing on refilling and taking fresh orders throughout.
Ensure wine cabinets are well-arranged and kept clean at all times and properly label all opened bottles and handle transfers or report spoilage according to set standards.
Carry out inventories and explain any variances to maintain accurate records.
Train colleagues on wine knowledge to enhance overall service quality.
Perform additional tasks assigned by Beverage Managers, including lateral service if required by the team.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in English and a second language (Russian, Spanish, German, Arabic or French) would be an added advantage.
A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role and certified.
Strong knowledge and a passion for wines and beverages.
