Overview
Architect, install, build, support, and upgrade the enterprise scheduling infrastructure and its associated software across mainframe and distributed platforms. Perform day to day operation of the enterprise scheduler including training, change, release, performance and availability management. Develop and modify Job Control Language (JCL) in support of Workload Automation Job Scheduler to ensure timely customer delivery systems.
Responsibilities
• Work cross-functionally with other operational service team to support business lines
• Coordinates the development of new or modifications to existing JCL in all Production and Test environments to enable customer delivery systems to run on the mainframe, with a focus on the Production critical path.
• Verifies that modified or new JCL is placed in proper online libraries
• Updates and maintains online program documentation as well as system processing flowcharts
• Develops new schedules and test modified schedules to satisfy customer requirements
• Adjusts schedules to ensure other customer delivery systems execute in a timely manner and recommends changes to prevent future reoccurrences
• Interact with the customers to identify and document changes in requirements including scheduling criteria
• Codes, tests, and documents new JCL to satisfy ad-hoc requirements
• Ensure timely processing of customer's Service Manager tickets
• Mentor others within the organization on the production schedules
• Drive industry standard on continuous process improvements
Qualifications
• Experience working with large scale enterprise scheduling packages, with an emphasis on Mainframe. Experience with ESP Workload automation is a plus
• Experience working with Windows/Linux/Unix platform
• Ability to perform data analysis to resolve complex problems
• Experience that demonstrates skill in understanding and applying technical information to automation opportunities and present the process in terms that the customer understands
• Ability to schedule work, represent the section in staff meetings, perform administrative functions in absence of section supervisor
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform major responsibilities of the job effectively and efficiently
• Strong JCL and TSO experience
• Basic understanding of Rexx, Windows batch scripting and/or PowerShell, web services or web APIs
• Contributes to design for specific deliverables and assists in the development of technical solutions
• Performance and tuning activities, which includes monitoring the system activities and making recommendations to the application developers on how to improve the overall performance of their application
Desired:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience
• Working knowledge of Navy Federal business processes and applications
• Possess current awareness of professional standards, innovations and industry best practices
• ITIL Certification
