Job Overview:
Lord Abbett’s Sustainability team provides strategic leadership for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives across the business. As “Investment Stewardship Lead”, you will lead Lord Abbett’s investment stewardship initiatives to promote informed ownership on our clients’ behalf across asset classes and geographies, focusing on thought leadership, policy development, issuer engagement, proxy voting, and reporting. Reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer, you will leverage your passion for ESG and exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to deliver world-class investment stewardship in collaboration with colleagues firm-wide. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
We’ll trust you to:
Serve as ESG subject matter expert and influencer to shape Lord Abbett’s investment stewardship strategy Lead the development and ongoing refinement of Lord Abbett’s Proxy Voting Policy and Procedures and strategies for implementing them Lead the management of the proxy voting program Perform in depth research and analyses on proxy voting proposals Analyze meeting agendas and related materials of Lord Abbett’s equity positions Formulate proxy voting recommendations in line with the Lord Abbett Sustainable Investing and Proxy Voting PolicyCollaborate with the Investment and Sustainability Teams to determine proxy voting instructions Advise and collaborate with investment teams on ESG integration and engagement, including proxy voting, to advance ESG commitments Anticipate trends by monitoring policy developments, analyzing engagement and voting themes, participating in external forums, benchmarking and tracking leading edge practices, and maintaining a strong network Establish, measure, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) demonstrating the firm’s progress against its investment stewardship objectives Lead processes for engagement tracking, proxy voting, and client, industry, and regulatory reporting, and innovate process enhancements each year Serve as primary contact for Lord Abbett’s proxy advisory firm
You'll need to have:
5-10 years of experience, preferably with a focus on ESG, corporate governance, issuer engagement, proxy voting, and/or executive compensationESG knowledge and passion Familiarity with SEC filings, including Form N-PXStrong digital skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsStrong leadership skills to inspire high performance, earn credibility and educate investment teams, and champion ESG efforts internally and externallyOutstanding interpersonal, problem-solving, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills, with an entrepreneurial, enterprise mindset Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and remain agile when priorities changeAbility to understand complex concepts and distill them into actionable ideas for stakeholders

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $150,000-$200,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
