Under the supervision of senior staff, the International Fund Administration Associate Senior gains exposure to and participates to a varied range of tasks including NAV oversight, fund accounting operations and financial reporting for Luxembourg UCITS, UK OEICs and Australian investment funds. The role will also entail performing time-critical review, verification and production work which includes reconciliations, valuation, reporting and vendor oversight to ensure daily NAV accuracy.
Primary responsibilities/essential functions:
Assists with the NAV oversight functions related to:
Fund performance validation through benchmarkingPricing and Fair Valuation of securitiesExecution of the hedge share class programSwing pricingAccounting for complex instruments and derivativesBudgeting, accruals and invoices processTotal Expenses Ratio and other expense analysisService providers KPI'sReporting to the Conducting Officers, the Management Company and the funds' Board of Directors
Assists with the fund accounting operations functions related to:
Cash reconciliations and cash projectionsPortfolio reconciliations (positions, pricing and income)Investment of liquiditiesProcessing of complex transactions such as fund launch, transfer in kind, merger and asset transferability analysis
Assists with the financial and regulatory reporting functions related to:
Semi-annual and annual financial statementsAudit process and regulatory reporting
Serves as subject matter expert:
Stays abreast of regulatory and operational developments via newsflashes, webinars, conferences and regular contacts with the fund industry.Has good knowledge of the fund's literature (Prospectus, Annual Reports, Fund fact sheets, investors' website, etc.) and can either direct requests on funds' data to the most appropriate source or collate relevant information or help provide directly a response.Helps researching and analysing complex issues and recommends solutions; identifies the root cause of issues to determine potential controls or process improvements.Connect the dots and participates in process improvements: gathers facts, identify and escalate issues, and identify possible solutions. Implements best practice and/or process improvements resulting from the management team's review.
Participates in cross departmental projects and team initiatives:
Provides input to working group to establish project plan and processes based on defined business objectives.Identifies and addresses fund accounting impacts.
Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
Business & Technical Skills:
Professional accounting qualification/Working towards one or direct significant experience in the Fund Accounting space.Understanding of accounting and valuation principles for securities including complex instruments and most common derivatives.Good working knowledge of the investment management industry, in particular of the role played by each intervening party.Good numerical ability, high proficiency with Excel, and ability to apply it to work assignments.Good professional judgment and leveraging of past experience to come up with the most adequate and effective decision, balancing business needs with operational feasibility.Continuous Improvement: mindset to challenge the status quo and propose more efficient processes.Team oriented: be flexible in the support of other team members, respect other's opinions and be reliable in assisting the team with the completion of tasks.Strong written and spoken English. Any other language is a plus.
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
