Description
We are looking for an economist intern who can apply economic methods to address our business problems. The ideal candidate will work with scientists and engineers to measure the impact of health initiatives on clinical and economic outcomes, and estimate models and algorithms on large scale data. We are looking for creative thinkers who can combine a strong technical economic toolbox with a desire to learn from other disciplines, and who know how to execute and deliver on big ideas as part of an interdisciplinary technical team.
These are full-time positions at 40 hours per week, with compensation being awarded on an hourly basis. You will learn how to conduct economic research and analysis to support business decision-making process, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and write documents for business audiences. These skills will translate well into writing applied chapters in your dissertation and provide you with work experience that may help you with placement.

Key job responsibilities
Basic qualifications include experience with reduced-form causal inference and strong writing skills. Preferred qualifications include expertise in economic forecasting, experience working with large data sets, and familiarity of R and Python.
A day in the life
Work with teammates to apply economic methods to business problems. This might include identifying the appropriate research questions, writing code to implement a DID analysis, or writing and presenting a document with findings to business leaders. Economists also collaborate with partner teams throughout the process, from understanding their challenges, to developing a research agenda that will address those challenges, to help them implement solutions.

PhD student in Economics (enrolled in 3rd year or more and not currently on the job market).
Preferred Qualifications
-Knowledge of data analysis languages (e.g., R, Stata, Python, etc.) or other statistical software
-Experience with SQL
